Meeting
Information
Quantum Gravity in the Southern Cone (QGSC) is a series of workshops in South America dedicated to quantum gravity and high-energy theoretical physics. The 2026 edition, the ninth in the series and coinciding with its 30th anniversary, continued its objective of bringing together international and regional experts, promoting scientific exchange and local development.
Over time, the focus of the meeting has evolved from canonical methods to topics such as holography, the emergence of space-time, dualities and AdS/CFT correspondence, recently incorporating tools such as machine learning.
The meeting had a discussion-based format, with talks focused on fundamental ideas and open problems, encouraging interaction between researchers from different backgrounds.
QGSC 2026 addressed current topics, with an emphasis on moving beyond the AdS/CFT paradigm, including black holes, quantum chaos, expanding spacetime, conformal field theory, scattering amplitudes, and artificial intelligence applications. Its purpose was to foster new research directions and strengthen long-term collaborations both regionally and internationally.
